Essential Learning
Tuesday, February 21, 2012
The Office of Workforce Development and Training, Child Welfare Training Institute, is pleased to announce the implementation of a new internet based staff training program; Elevate powered by Essential Learning.
A group of internal and external stakeholders reviewed the courses, and 150 eLearning courses are now available for you to complete. Please see the attached “Essential Learning Courses 2012” document for a list of the available courses. This new training program allows you to access valuable child welfare information on-demand, and complete in-service training hours without the hassle of travel. You simply take the course from anywhere you have an internet connection and complete it at your own pace. Some of the courses offer Continuing Education (CE) credit hours.
To get started, log on to JJOLT and open the new Essential Learning folder. Then click the link and you will be taken to your Essential Learning home page. Please see the attached “Essential Learning Quick Start Guide” for information on how to access the eLearning courses once you are in the site. You must pass a test at the end of every course with at least 80% in order for training hours to be credited to your transcript in JJOLT. You can access each course as many times as needed, but can only receive in-service training credit once per course. The average length of a course is approximately 1.5 hours.
We are excited about this new eLearning program. We hope that you will find the convenience of the system, and the variety of courses offered, helpful in meeting your professional development goals.
