MSP/DHS Personal Safety Training

The Department of Human Services (DHS) and the Michigan State Police (MSP) have collaborated to bring the “MSP/DHS Personal Safety” training to DHS employees. This half-day class is led by MSP Community Service Troopers.

The training will cover safety awareness, knowledge and skills. Attendees will learn de-escalation techniques, enhance communications skills, and learn to safely use, and understand the legal requirements for, self-defense spray.

Please check JJOLT regularly for dates and locations, classes will be offered until December 1, 2011. The roll-out of this training will be phased, and will initially occur at training centers. Additional dates and locations will be added on an ongoing basis.

To register, log into JJOLT, select Training, then Classes. Type MSP into the Class Title field and select MSP/DHS Personal Safety. Add other search criteria if desired, then select Search. Register for the class of your choice.
