Mission Statement

The mission of the Michigan's Child Welfare Training Institute (CWTI) is to improve individuals' work performance by equipping professionals with the knowledge and skills necessary to help them to be successful in their work with families.  CWTI aims to be a national leader in developing and delivering training programs which promote the development of competent child welfare professionals in both public and private sectors.

CWTI places a high value on the safety of the children we serve.  Safety, being first and foremost, CWTI also values permanency and well-being for Michigan's children.  Preservation of the family, when it is in the best interests of the children, is encouraged.   We emphasize family-centered, strength-based, and solution-focused services throughout our trainings.   Our team celebrates diversity and teamwork at all levels of CWTI.
